Sponsorship opportunities

Let us support YOU by partnering with us!

You know your business and we know the curriculum - together we will bridge, boost and excite the learning platform for our pupils!

Balsall Common Primary School is proud to be in the forefront of linking our curriculum with businesses and whether you are a small local, or part of an international company in any sector, there is massive scope for YOU to involve the pupils of today in ways to boost their learning platform for their, and our, future.

Your benefits by Partnering with BCPS include:

  • raise your brand awareness and create preference;
  • reach your target audience;
  • promote your range of products, service and events;
  • be part of our sponsor PR Facebook posts eg. on an agreed week, we will boost any campaigns, service and/ or products;
  • create positive PR and raise awareness through eg. enrichment to our curriculum and involvement in supporting certain school areas (see below);
  • Community and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community work can be a big part in people’s decision making process when comparing similar companies and by using your business link on our Sponsors Wall, you really bring your community spirit to life.

Enhancing our Curriculum

Our doors have always been open but due to Covid-19, we will take a virtual approach, similar to Zoom and Teams meetings, where businesses will ‘meet’ the pupils and teachers virtually to deliver an agreed topic interactive presentation.

We are seeing the benefit you add to our pupils and we know that from your involvement, your brand awareness and sales will increase. With our diverse curriculum, there is vast scope to become involved

We look forward to hearing from you and welcome you to our line-up of sponsors: https://www.balsallcommonprimary.co.uk/topic/sponsors

Success stories to date

Since we changed to an academy back in 2012 BCPS ambition has been to gain sponsorship, grants and apply for funding where available. Through Howard’s drive, we have been able to develop relationships with both local as National businesses. This supports the school to further enhance pupils’ education through ‘Real Life Learning’ or by funding some of the little extras.

Some of you may have seen the parent option to 'sponsor a brick'. This was done on the back of the hard work already carried out by school’s PTA, where parents can buy a brick for just £25 as a lasting reminder for their children; to order YOUR personalised brick: https://www.balsallcommonprimary.co.uk/topic/sponsors

Howard successfully launched the Balsall Common Primary virtual Sponsors Wall where businesses can buy virtual bricks for just £150 per annum to add their company logo and link to their website plus of course also showcase their involvement with school.

Funding

Following talks with our existing sponsor Atkinson Stilgoe they were quick to jump on board and pledge a further £10,000 to the school over the next 4 years. This is the second time they have done this and have now donated over £20,000. They are also regulars at the PTA Summer Gala and Christmas Fayre running stalls and donating back the proceeds. John Shepherd Select, were very generous in giving £8,000 toward the new nursery garden and have also supported the school in various other ways helping out with stage lighting, £3,500, and sponsoring various events including the PTA Centenary Ball and ‘Stars in Their Eyes’.

Please support All of our sponsors in supporting us and visit their websites to check out for some great deals. https://www.balsallcommonprimary.co.uk/topic/sponsors

Grant and Funding applications

Through grant applications, Howard has secured:

  • £112,500 for the flat roof in KS1
  • £9,500 for disabled facilities in the pool
  • £1,500 to repair the KS1 Adventure Playground
  • £1,900 for sports kit and equipment
  • £132,724 for lighting upgrades and rewiring

We have also won £2,000 for the Cookathon (715 children cooked a Biryani in one day), where Forrest of Arden and Holiday Inn have supplied most of the ingredients;

Generous donations & business involvement

Seetar Tandoori in Kenilworth supported our Food Week by bringing lots of tasty treats, Oakes Farm have supplied all of the eggs for the Cooking Club; we have also gained £400 of cooking equipment, a new double oven, hand blenders, Griddle Pans and lots of other items and ingredients for the Cooking Club. We’ve gained numerous prizes for the school fetes and raffles where sponsors pledged meals, tools, gardening equipment, printers, tickets to Rugby, Football, coffee makers, Paintballing, laser tag, sports memorabilia, an adrenalin day and a very large teddy!

Howard has secured additional outside seating and some black boards for the key stage 1 playground; Nursery had an outside tap fitted; the play house has been re-felted; Nature Club has a Bug Hotel and all of the outside fences were painted by JLR as part of a team building day, again saving us thousands.

JD from Free Radio came in with his team and fixed the radio equipment saving us over £1,000, they then continued to do their show with the children as guest announcers for news, travel and the weather.

Also, Howard has arranged an alternative Skills Day for Year 6 when the Skills Show decided to exclude primary school children. With the help of Solihull College 90 Year 6 pupils now get a chance to have hands on experience and to see first-hand what is available to them in future in regards to education and job opportunities.

Award

In 2015 we won the Business in Education Partnership award and in addition, Howard has gone on to win other awards as well as writing for a National school’s magazine, FundEd, to share my experiences and hopefully help other schools help their children and enhance learning.

We have linked up with easyfundraising, this is a way everyone can support the school simply by buying goods through the easyfundraising website, these goods are often at a discounted rate so check here first !

We have linked to borrowclub, where you can loan your goods for a fee or borrow someone elses if you don’t want to purchase something that you only use maybe once or twice a year.

Minibus

Howard organised the delivery of the school’s minibus and since then it has been regularly used to transport children to all of their sports fixtures and has also arranged behind the scenes tours and trips to Prodrive Banbury, Monarch Airlines, The National Motor Cycle Museum, John Lewis, Marriott Forrest of Arden, Balfour Beatty, Oakes Farm, Birmingham Hippodrome, Ram Hall Farm, Network Rail and many other venues as well as getting businesses to visit us.

Press and Media

Many of the events have featured in the local press and copies can be found in the News section on our website or simply Google the school.

We have many more exciting projects coming up so if you want to get involved, become a sponsor or just have a question then please do not hesitate to stop and ask, or feel free to contact either myself or Birgitta.
